Waking Night Youth Support Worker (Children’s Residential Home)

We are currently recruiting for a Waking Night Youth Support worker to be based in a children’s residential home in Nottingham for a leading provider. The organisation specialises in working with young people and families and have comprehensive experience in providing specialist, welfare and educational based support, interventions and guidance to children and young people in various settings.
They currently have 19 children's homes in, and around the Midlands area with an age group ranging from 10-18 years. Majority of the young people in their care have complex emotional behavioural difficulties, which can lead to behaviours of concern. They accommodate and care for young people, providing holistic and bespoke care packages to meet individual needs, ensuring effective and positive outcomes.
As a night youth support worker you will be expected to provide guidance, support and encouragement to the young people to ensure they achieve their full potential. You will be responsible for the welfare of the young people during the night period ensuring their safeguarding and wellbeing.
As an organisation we committed to provide care staff with a comprehensive induction into this field of work, this will include:
- A modular training programme prior to commencement of role
- Monthly formal professional supervision
- QCF Level 3 in the children's and young people workforce Qualification (Funded by the organisation)
- On-going continuous professional development
Previous experience within this field would be advantageous, however this is not essential. We welcome applicants that we feel have the right characteristics, aptitude, and life skills to work with our young people.
- Previous experience working with young people.
- Full UK Drivers Licence
- Live Update DBS
As a residential provision this is a 52 week/24-hour service. You will be required to work a 11-hour shift pattern which includes 5 working nights and 5 rest days.
You will be required to undergo a Disclosure Barring Service enhanced application which will be funded by the organisation.
Interviews will take place as assessment days. Right to Work documents will be requested at interview.
